The Go Red for Women program is presented across America in many culturally diverse formats and is now used in 65 countries across the world. Teaching women about their risk of heart disease and empowering them to make changes that positively affect their health and the health of their families, Go Red For Women is one of the most vital programs that the AHA offers.
Launched in 2003, the Go Red For Women movement raises awareness that men and women lose their lives to heart disease and stroke, while creating a call to action for all women to commit to a heart-healthy lifestyle. This event creates an inspirational and informative atmosphere, which encourages women in communities across America to become champions of their own health. With activities throughout the year, the program culminates in a luncheon event in May.
Women report that 80% of those who attend a luncheon take steps to live healthier, both for themselves AND their families, touching a limitless number of future generations.
Still, heart disease is the #1 killer of women in America. Open your heart to get involved: donate today.
Tulsa's 2014 Go Red for Women Goal is $420,000. Funds raised by the Go Red for Women movement are used to fund research and education, touching thousands each year.
